You will gain a whole new appreciation for fresh fish after you take part in one of Matthews Deep Sea Fishing & Ocean Adventures aboard the Searcher 1 with Captain Blair Matthews.

The Searcher 1 is a three-year-old fiberglass vessel and is Transport Canada approved. She is equipped with fresh running water, a microwave oven and clean washrooms.

It is a fully operational commercial fishing vessel so you get a true feel for the vessels used by hundreds of Island fishers.

Captain Blair is a certified master with over 35 years of experience at sea. Blair fishes out of the small western Prince Edward Island fishing village of Northport, and is more than ready to take you on a high seas adventure.

Matthews Deep Sea Fishing & Ocean Adventures is located in the village of Northport in the western part of PEI.
We can now catch cod and also offer tuna hook and release fishing. There will be one meal served for the day so bring along a lunch and some snack food.

We also have a Scientific Display Cage which lies on the ocean floor and holds  a variety of shellfish like lobsters. We haul it aboard to give guests a close look.
